I’m in love with Connan Mockasin’s sound. There’s something to it that is so eerie and so soothing, I could listen to his catalogue again and again without ever having to complain about anything.

Forever Dolphin Love is his first album and already contains some of his best songs like Faking Jazz Together, Megumi and the title track. On that track, and during 10 minutes, the space is filled with air, taking time, but every now and then when Mockasin sings « Forever Dolphin Love » it sounds like the most emotional sentence you’ve ever heard. Three words that sound as powerful as the universe speaking to your ears because of how special Mockasin’s voice feels, coming from afar, from the misty and promising horizon.

I have this dream that, one day, Connan Mockasin and Caleb Landry Jones work together because of how close their understanding of music feels sometimes, because of how creative they both are, using instruments and voices like they were made to imprint the talent of human beings into outer space.
